DESCRIPTION
The skin resurfacing treatment strips away the top layers of skin to reveal a fresher, smoother you! The Er-YAG laser has become the most popular choice in the last decade, offering excellent results without any serious side-effects. It works by generating heat under the skin's surface, destroying the oldest layer of skin. After a few days the skin peels to reveal a smooth, bright complexion.

RISKS
There are few risks associated with this type of treatment, as the lasers do not penetrate the face very deeply. All patients will probably experience redness, blistering and swelling around the affected areas, and the skin will peel between days 3 and 4 of recovery.
Resurfacing can be carried out on any part of the body, although it is primarily designed for the face. Afro-Caribbean skin is not compatible with this treatment.
Please also note that there is a risk of permanent scarring and / or pigmentation involved in this type of treatment. If you have any concerns please talk to your consultant.
DURATION OF RESULTS
Skin resurfacing will reduce the appearance of blemishes, birthmarks, freckles, broken capillaries and age spots. It will also tighten the skin and improve the appearance of wrinkles; results will last for perhaps five years, during or after which you may wish to arrange a further treatment.
