DESCRIPTION
Almost any tattoo can now be removed with the use of lasers. The treatment works by breaking down the particles of ink suspended beneath the skin, enabling your immune system to naturally eliminate them. Three types of laser are employed to remove different colour groups.

RISKS
There are no serious risks associated with tattoo removal. The Healthcare Commission monitors our work to ensure that laser treatments are carried out to the highest modern standards.
It is worth noting that some tattoos do not respond to laser treatment, although most amateur and professional tattoos will disappear within a number of sessions. Treatments are not carried out under anaesthesia and will cause some discomfort to the patient - not dissimilar to the pain of having a tattoo created in the first place.
After-effects are mild and can include blistering, swelling and redness around the affected area. Darker skin will occasionally lighten after treatments - but this usually vanishes within a year. The skin very rarely displays any permanent after-effects, although some patients have noticed differences in skin texture.
DURATION OF RESULTS
Tattoo removal is a permanent treatment and patients should not require any further treatment once their course is complete.
